On why this issue exists, and why it's about what it's about
What a gorgeous problem we've been handed!
I mean it. I know the mood I'm supposed to be in. I've read the tired posts and watched the tired videos, and I've listened to clever people twice my age explain in a flat voice that it's over, that the written word had a good run. Literature has been pronounced dead about once a season since before I could read, and I've noticed the people doing the pronouncing always sound a little relieved.
